Nice. That's really satisfying. I'm assuming your to do list wasn't simply 'finish to do list'All the items I had on my to-do list for today have been completed without any interruptions![]()
Congratulations. My book, The Song of the Blue Bottle Tree, made it into the top 100 books (#79) in the small town and rural fiction category on Amazon.
Cool!.........Pitcher plants??View attachment 293
I was expecting to appreciate these guys for their function but not for their form as they're not my.usual type but, I mean, look at them! They just look like muppets having a good old natter. Now where did I put those googly eyes?
Yes! Very new to me. Apparently these ones will also live outside happily too, even in the farthest corners of the UK, but I'm finding it hard to reconcile with my preconceptions about all flytrap plants being tender. They're doing a good job on all the little gnats so far but the houseflies aren't falling for it yet. I have placed them on my main fly highway but maybe I need to put up a little arrow sign saying 'Flies eat free' or something so they stop by.Cool!.........Pitcher plants??
Maybe a sign that says "Nude Dancing Flies" next exit.Yes! Very new to me. 95 degrees yesterday to 58 today, which is ridiculous, but I'm not complaining. I'm up in the mountains, though, so the weather has a mind of its own. Back home in dropped maybe 10 degrees. There was a break in the heatwave today! For once I was happy to see overcast skies.
Yeah, we call that "νοτιας", and I'm not a huge fan of it. You know it happens when half of the population has cars covered in dry mud, which won't come off unless you scrub with soap, so many procrastinate and you now have horrible looking cars everywhere.yellow sky in the med is usually dust from the sahara
Ah, the beauty of enharmonics. Is it a natural key or a flat key in the diatonic? Is it the augmented 4th in modal (Lydian) or the flat 5th (Locrian)? Is the melody pointing up (D#) or pointing down (Eb)? I'm not sure how often any of that comes up in the choral world but it can become mission critical in the guitar world. Same note but how it functions in the harmonic soup changes the approach to the song. Actually, I'd imagine it's the same for both.D#6/Eb6

I'm dealing with an E# right now in a piece my guitar teacher just emailed me. Not an F--god forbid!--because it's an augmented 6th walking up to tonal center G. And not a flat 7th because it hits the major 7th of F# next. Buuuuut... it's also not considered a chromatic run because the G chord it points to is functioning as the flat 6th chord of B minor. If it were a jazz tune, it would be a different story, as the keys often change several times in a single measure. It's a classical Etude by Fernando Sor, and classical follows rigid diatonic keys and suicidal fealty to proper structure most of the time.
It all makes my head spin.
