A year after acceptance and three years after I first wrote the story, I signed off on final edits for a sci-fi flash fic this morning!
I’ve been anxious about this one because the first publisher who took it (back in 2023j folded before publication, so it’s a relief to enter the home stretch and lay those demons to rest at last

Placed 3rd out of 17 in the .com championship contest! The top two stories actually tied in score (with four judges, no less), so those writers split the gold and silver prize money. I barely made the podium; real squeaker between 3rd and 4th.
Lately I've kind of started wondering if I've lost my mojo, which is unusual as I'm typically quite confident with my writing. So, it's a bit of a relief, to be honest.
