What made me unhappy today ?

Don't like Nando's. Had it once. Never again.

Don't mind peri-peri. Just don't like Nando's. Overpriced and dry.

That's funny. Here in Australia, Nando's is one of the better places for fast food. :-\ They're still overpriced, but their chickens are fresh and pretty good. Not sure what happened to you, Naomasa. *shrug*

Nando's is better than most here, but considering that their competition is mainly McDonald's, Hungry Jack's (aka in America as Burger King) and KFC, that's not a surprise. Don't get me wrong, there are still good burger places here (e.g. Grill'd, who make everything from scratch), but they're few and far between.

Anyway, I lodged a (polite) complaint through their website, and within 5 hours I received an apologetic email offering me a coupon. I appreciate that they're finally keeping their word, but it's annoying that I had to chase them and yell to get what they promised in the first place. *shrug* Oh, well.

Nothing happened. I just grew up amongst good food, by which I don't mean any kind of chain restaurant. We didn't get McD's, Burger King, Taco Bell, Nando's, KFC and all that where I lived. Hell, we didn't even get Coke, we only got Pepsi. So pretty much everything had to be cooked fresh (or as fresh as you could get from imported ingredients).

I agree, cooking everything fresh is best. I do that most nights. (Last night I made a fresh veggie salad, and put some barramundi on the grill. Easy). But every so often I get lazy, that's all.

Skinned it, dunked it in a vat of gunk, blasted it to hell, burned it, carbonised all the flavour. Then stuck a ridiculous price tag on it.

Never heard of them, which is a good thing, I think. Those corporate chains are folding faster than you can say "over-leveraged corporate structure."

Their key point, as I recall, is that they have ten or twelve different sauces ranging from mayo-based on up to extremely spicy. So you order your chicken and decide what it's going to taste like at the table.

Grill'd is in trubs again for underpaying their teenage staff last I heard. All fast food joints like KFC McD's etc are franchises, and vary widely when it comes to the food and how clean the place is etc. I generally avoid places where children do the cooking and go to a pub instead.

I've tried my local pub, but like any other pub, it's overpriced. I don't drink much alcohol either, so ... *shrug*

One of my carer's is a cunt. She worked while "just run down" and now I have been sick for six days so far. Saw the Dr today and I have a sinus infection, chest infection and oral thrush. And my urgent specialist hospital appointment tomorrow has now been cancelled until March! All because she worked while "run down".

Sort of obviates the "urgent" part, no? Say what you want about US healthcare... you pay through the nose but don't have to wait to get the stuff you need, for the most part.

I feel for you, but I have a little bit of sympathy for these people. Their wages are so low, and SSP is even lower, that a lot of them have no choice but to work when they're unwell. But no, putting people at risk is completely unacceptable. And I'm speaking as someone who is immunocompromised - an infection could kill me.

I have my Nando's chicken.....without any sauce! While many people take their Nando's with peri-peri sauce and the other sauces. I like the wedges.

Depends on where you live. My emergency visit to the neurologist was scheduled a month out, even after my doctor called and got them to push it forward from two months out. My brother has been waiting since before Christmas to have a procedure to clear up blockages in both legs. He lives in the Rio Grande Valley where there are a ton of hospitals. I live where there are maybe 4 (2 of them very small) within a 200 mile radius. Maternity care in a rural state? Ha. Good luck with that.

I've been struggling for the past two days with a badly painful toe. It hurts like hell to do anything like standing or walking, and it's not getting better with painkillers. This wouldn't be a major announcement, but when I went to see my GP last month, I was told this might be gout. So I'm afraid it is.

I'll make an appointment with my GP for as early as I can and ask.
