What made me unhappy today ?

Mexican cuisine is as diversified as anybody. Lots of culinary influences in the area in addition to their sheer size and variated terrain. Oaxacan style has been catching on lately with their moles and huge ass tortillas.

Today is the kind of day that I don't know which image bothers me more, a deep-fryer suicide or an ass tortilla — never mind huge or regular.

And at what point does the time you spend on doing this become worth more than the coupons?

By now, I don't even care about the value of the coupons. A few dollars is nothing. What's at stake is a principle: if someone in a vast, faceless, bureaucratic corporation promises me something, they should keep that promise.

If they do not, then my trust in them as a consumer is destroyed, and I have no desire to give them my money.

On the one hand, I do want to eat there, because the food there is delicious and (fairly) healthy. On the other hand, I certainly don't want to reward their greedy, swindling, fraudulent arses.

If it weren't for people like Rath, we would all be suffering an even more dishonest society than already exists, where corporations could get away with far more than they already do.

Go get them, @Rath Darkblade! Don't let them get away.

*builds a nuclear bomb and drops it on Corrupt Corporation Arses* ;-P

Ripe for the satirical pickings, I'm afraid. Late Stage Capitalism shouldn't blame the messenger but always does.

I cannot get the formatting in the workshop to work. I click edit and it looks fine, click submit - trash. I've copied from three different programs. I give up 🤬

What are you trying to do? The software doesn't pick up anything other than line breaks, I think.

It's better now than it was. The first two times it was a literal wall of text, so I'd click edit and poof it was better. So I tried editing it there, made everything super exaggerated, looked wrong, but I figured when it posted it would be right. Nope nothing changed. Closed WF and reopened, maybe it's lag or something. No. Still trash. In the end I had to paste it into word, then adjust, and copy from there. Still wrong, but at least readable now.

Have you tried right clicking on the post where you want the text and "paste as unformatted" I think it says. It should give you a second option to paste and usually pasting the work that way will lead to less issues. At least in my experience.

EDIT: No, it said "paste as plain text" not unformatted.

I did some sleep tests and found out I had "severe sleep apnea". They haven't prescribed a solution yet, but I am not looking forward to that CPAP machine.

Moral of the story, don't become overweight like me if you can help it.

Sometimes it is just the luck of the draw. My husband has never been an ounce overweight in his life and has been using a CPAP for a decade or more. He adjusted to it fairly quickly.

Congratulations on discovering the condition in time. My cousin's husband lived in denial of his problem and died in his sleep as a direct result.

One gets used to it, especially when sleep gets more fulfilling. I’ve used one since 2007 but now have to do another sleep study - it’s been over 10 years, which is the insurance’s condition for coverage of a new machine. My old one is getting crankier than me!

Maybe this belongs in the "What made me happy" thread, but I'll keep this here to conclude that peri-peri debacle: there was a happy ending. I went to the restaurant yesterday, and there was no trouble. They gave me what they promised. All's well that ends well. Some justice at last.

Cheers to the restaurant staff for being so helpful! :)

Jeers to the office staff for being so darn rude. =P
