I'm so sorry that happened. Scams like that are the worst and the shame and embarrassment is hard to deal with. I've fallen victim to scams in the past and it's hard to talk about, so thank you for sharing.I just fell victim to a scam.
An email came in to my business email address, seemingly from one of my suppliers, telling me a service was expiring and that it needed renewing. As it happened, a service WAS expiring so I didn't look closely and clicked it, entered my card details and clicked Pay. Some weird message about an app came up, and it made me look closer. Then I realised, the link wasn't going where I expected.
I quickly logged in, transferred all the money to one of my personal accounts at another bank (not one that some caller had asked me to open) and froze my card. Tried to call the bank's fraud line and just got a voicemail. Should be ok now, but I really could do without having to deal with this in the middle of the night. I'll have to sort out a new card now and update various payment details.
I woke up with really bad back pain. It's common for me every since my spine was fused, but some days the pain is worse and I have a hard time getting out of bed. But I managed to get up and do some chores! Now I'm sitting here with a fine cup of coffee and reading through this wonderful forum.
Ow. *cough* Well, I have a concert to perform in within the next 2.5 weeks ... but this evening, halfway through rehearsal, I started feeling a sore throat and couldn't stop coughing.![]()
Oh, we're definitely having that conversation tomorrow. They called right about closing time for themselves, so it was a rushed chat.Wait, Dogberry; hold on. If they didn't replace something last time they fixed an issue for you, why do you have to pay? You paid them do do the job and they didn't, so that should be on them! *mad*
Maybe I'm missing something?
@rath dark blade, that story reminds me the scene in Crocodile Dundee, where he dumps a guy’s cocaine into a steaming bowl of water!Ow. *cough* Well, I have a concert to perform in within the next 2.5 weeks ... but this evening, halfway through rehearsal, I started feeling a sore throat and couldn't stop coughing.
I took lozenges for it, and had a cup of steaming hot tea with lemon and ginger, but nothing worked. I suspect I've come down with a cold.
To be honest, I'm not surprised. Three days ago, the family got together for dinner, and my sister had a cold, and her kids (and my other sister's kids) were running around like crazy. And then, when I left work earlier today, I ran straight into a giant thunderstorm. (I had on my warmest coat, scarf, and hat, and a big umbrella, but none of it could protect me from the rain, and I got soaked to the skin).
So with all that going on, I wouldn't be surprised if I've got a cold. But it's rotten timing. *cough* Ow, ow, ow. I hate being sick. =(
I'm chewing on an antibacterial lozenge and waiting for my electric blanket to do something, and then crawl into bed. Wish me luck.
Of course they did ... so you'd be rushing too, and maybe wouldn't be thinking straight, and wouldn't think to raise objections ... until now. *mad*Oh, we're definitely having that conversation tomorrow. They called right about closing time for themselves, so it was a rushed chat.
I think that's called man-flu.
Ugh, it's time to order my meds again. Fortunately, I get a 3 month supply of the critical ones that actually keep me alive, but I keep forgetting to order my other ones and often do it too late, and then some delay happens and I'm left without some meds for a few days, and it's not pleasant. This month, I'll be sure to get it done on time, now that I've remembered.
