What made me unhappy today ?

Was following behind this dump truck today when i realized that gravel was pouring out the back of his rig. One big piece bounced up and annihilated my windshield to the tune of $1,400, which $500 is mine from deductible. That, in the middle of a 36-hour fast, was a test of my sanity, lol. Grr!!
That is rough.

My car insurance covers windshield dings for free, but I'm not sure about full replacement.

I don't know where you are, but where I am at least trucking companies are required to cover that damage. For the future, you note the truck numbers, where you were, the time, and call them. They'll make sure that truck was where you said it was at that time (the majority are gps tracked) and they'll pay for it. My mom is an accountant for a trucking company and it's just part of doing business.

Google.

Fighting with Google Merchant Center (sic) and Google Ads Manager to get all my products set up and a marketing campaign, and keep missing things or not doing shit and having to wait for all the data to sync again, or looking for that setting that they moved two versions ago, but no articles have caught up with. Clearly, manuals and documentation are for the weak.

I wake up to my son calling my phone to tell me something was flying in his room last night over his head. I go in his room thinking a fly or something simple, and feel something fly over my head. I turn on his light and it's a frigging bat wildly swooping about. I'm screaming, son's batting his arms. My husband comes in, gets it in a box and lets it go outside. We live in a city, not even sure how or why a bat got inside. All windows shut because AC is on. So bizarre.

Dutchess health department advised my son and I, because we weren't positive if there was contact, to get the shots. So we did, all four of them.

Really could be worse, though it did put a damper on the day.

That is perfectly just and how it should be. I hope @TrevorD sees this.

What kind of machine are you driving? Last time I paid for a windscreen was over 10 years ago but cost just over 100 euros. Fully comprehensive insurance covers it since without affecting premiums. Last time I had to get it done was after some guy put his foot through it. For ease of process, I may have said it was a loose rock off a truck but insurance coveted it, no cost to me and a story published in an actual book.

My countyvunderwent a tax reassessment in the past couple of years, the first two decades or more. It hit my town particularly hard. The resulting hike has forced my hair salon from the cute historic house four blocks away to an ugly, depressing, concrete-block-walled space in a strip mall 8 miles out of town. I'm sitting waiting for my appointment, and if I don't control myself, I'll cry. It’s like someone's passed away, my sense of loss is so stark.

My hairdresser just told me it's worse than that. The landlord tripled their rent  and wanted the salon owner/tenant to pay the increased tax as a separate line item.

It's a Tesla Model Y. Only the dealer can replace it.
