What made me unhappy today ?

Does it work when plugged in though?
Yeah, it does, but it is simply no longer charging. I'm pretty confident it's not the battery as for the past few months it has kept switching from battery mode to charging mode on it's own, and the solution to that has been to tuck the cord between the base and the monitor to keep the cord from moving. But that's no longer working.

It's worth the $60 to see if it's just the adapter as the cord has been twisted and bent a lot over the past couple years. I am in true fear that it's the port, though. This is a gaming PC that still works great and was not cheap when I bought it. Going to pray to the computer gods for mercy when I try out the replacement adapter tomorrow.

From The Guardian, an opinion piece on a nasty gossip site:
The Guardian is a nasty gossip site.

Surely you mean The Grauniad, right? Or is it only I who remembers the frequent and sometimes hilarious spelling errors in that rag?

Follow-up: no, apparently I don't have to "remember" them. Horrifyingly, they still occur enough that this rag has to compile a list of them. Corrections and clarifications | The Guardian

In this age of almost automated spell-checks, it is inexcusable to have so many speeling mistooks. =P

So since Lusitania was an ocean liner, not a cruise ship, I'm not sure what we're supposed to infer. Other than that the professional writer doesn't know that words have meanings and the editor got canned in the last round of layoffs.

Wait, wait, wait ... you expect journalists to pay attention to meanings of words??? (Even more, you expect journalists to pay attention?) ;)

We had a whole week of glorious sunshine, now it’s overcast and threatening to rain.

I know we need the rain however, I should have been born a lizard. I’d park on a rock and sit in the sun all day

Going outside is like walking into an oven. It was still 82°F (27°C) at 10 pm last night. The humidity is disgusting and it's not even 8 am. The extreme heat warnings continue. Looking at heat index of 110°F (43°C) today. I need a cavern to live in this week. 🥵

Much sympathy, Trish. There are reasons I moved north to the mountains. I start to melt when it gets over 80 degrees and reach the verge of collapse when it soars over 90. Serious heat wimp here.
