Workshop rules

It never worked properly, did it, that credit system?
Nope it was a pile, mostly because it isn’t really meant to be used the way Daniel was trying to use it . They separately had a thing called the workshop guardian which supposedly stopped people posting in there til they met initial criteria but it broke in 2019 and was never fixed

Over here we just use moderator eyes and judgement

FYI @Luxuria I saw that you made a critique for a guy we had to ban for repeatedly posting links and adverts to his work. Unfortunately it got zapped with the rest of the thread, but your contribution there is noted for participation purposes. No need to do another on that front, though like I said, we should all be doing more critiques if we're not doing them regularly.

I'm sorry if this has been answered before, but I can't find it if it was. I have a piece in the workshop I posted in May. I have edited it, and would like to repost. The issue is - there are 35 replies, and that's a lot to sort through to find the edited version. Can I start a new thread for it, or do I just hope people can find it?

put the editted post on the bottom of the thread and then edit the first post to include a link to the editted one... we prefer one thread per piece

Okay. Happy to do it. Do I just click the post number thing in the corner and "Copy link"? I'm assuming yes, but would like to make sure instead of screwing it up lol.

yes, you can also use ther little link icon if you want to change ther link text to for example 'click here for the edited version'

nope - currently they can't even see there is a workshop. that's going to change shortly but the content will stay private
I just logged out to check, and can't see that there is a workshop when logged out. Was this going to change at some point? Might lure in more new members if they see we have a workshop, even if the content is hidden?

I thought that the workshop was only visible to logged in members so that work that is intended for publication can still be work-shopped without affecting first serial rights?

Important for potential members to know that it's a feature, but they mustn't be able to see the work?

They'd be able to see it exists but wouldn't be able to access it. Like being turned away at the windowless strip club.

If you can maybe hide the thread titles as well? Like how the contests forums are visible, but you can't see any of the content in them, when logged out.
