Yo, murff here

I can think of two places this might fit. If you're looking for feedback, the Non-fiction workshop:

Or you might like to start your own journal for any personal writing:

Okay thanks. Not really looking to workshop this, so a journal thread sounds good.

I just looked at the journal thread and it's for writing progress. My piece above is more general, not specific to writing.

maybe the best bet is to wait for Homer's response and see if the Showcase will be happening?

it would be good to have a forum (maybe blogs?) where writers can just share a piece of writing without expectation of feedback

There was talk of starting a Showcase - @Homer Potvin - is that still in the works?

BTW - Sounds like you had an incredible week! I can imagine how breathtaking the nature is there.
I forget--- can we still make connected blogs here? That might be another option.

The what now?

Negative on blogs. That idea did not make the cut.

In my aged memory, I seem to recall some discussion about a Showcase, similar to what we have on the "old" forum.
Oh, like the Workshop where you can post stuff without wanting critique? Is there a need for it? It seems a little redundant/superfluous, even back at the OG.

If someone just wants to share a piece of writing, but not for feedback, where would be the best place to post it?

My understanding of a workshop is that it is a place to discuss the work. I would call that critique. Critique is not necessarily critical in the negative sense. Some people want critique and some don’t. It gets confusing if both expectations have to coexist in the same forum. Some assume that workshops are for critique, others get offended and quit.

I take humor seriously, as in, I'm serious about humor. Up here, we spell it humour. Don’t forget that.
British version with "u"? Okay. Though it's difficult to be good at humor or humour, it takes practice to excel at any of it.
