Day 337: Anniversary Contests (and other hoopla)

Oh! The irony...the short story entry I bled for...sweated and stayed up late nights to get perfect...the one I thought was a sure winner, but wasn't, and so missed the anniversary contest. But the tongue-in-cheek, knock-off, joke story I wrote in an afternoon and didn't even really polish, takes home the gold in a sole-entry monthly contest with a terrible prompt and gets entered into the anniversary contest.

Now that is irony defined.

:ROFLMAO:

It does bookend these two life lessons nicely, lessons I live by but rarely implement, obviously...

Showing up is half the battle.
And
Always bring your A-game.

Oh...and if you aint first, you're last!

Honestly, you either nail it the first time or you don't nail it at all. Editing and polishing aside, the shape and the beats and the emotional center need to be on the page already in my opinion.

Once the calendar flips to May we'll put the twelve up for a vote. It'll run for the whole month.
