That's been my experience with kitties as well. If you regularly interact with them and love them, this is almost always reciprocated. For a long time now, Mittens' main goal in life has been to be within 1-3 feet of myself, whether I'm working, gaming/TV, in bed/sleeping. She just wants to be near. In the Before Times when I worked in the office, she would jump up on my living room table and scream at my door at around the time I'd typically arrive home. But yes, they are generally very low-maintenance and won't especially mind the occasional week or two absence, provided someone does check in on 'em every few days (for indoor cats for sure).

I'm glad I booked tomorrow off. I usually take a Friday off here and there for a 3-day weekend, but I am loving this idea of working two days, then getting to sleep in, and then two more work days before the weekend kicks in. I should break up more weeks like this as 4 or 5 days in a row can really feel like a grind.
