I am reminded of NASA's lost Mars Orbiter satellite (1999) which burned up in the Martian atmosphere because Lockheed Martin failed to convert imperial data into metric, so things went all haywire.
If people would only stick to imperial, the way God planned it.
Ok, after a pretty crazy week, calm is restored through 8lbs and 13oz of the chillest bundle I've come across in a long time. My daughter and her daughter are doing great. I'm a grandfather and so looking forward to the next chapter.
Congratulations, my friend. My third grandchild, a girl, was born on the 21st of March. I don't drink alcohol, but this certainly calls for a celebratory quaff of something special. I'll make hot chocolate, you make your favorite drink, and we'll have a cybertoast to celebrate.
I've had a coffee but I may just have another one.

What is that in metric?
According to google conversion, just shy of 4 kilos but well ahead of awesome.
Our newbie was 9.5. Mom was a 10.5 lb. baby and Dad was a 10 lb. baby, but we didn't feel like we needed to toss New Baby back and let her grow a little more.
Snake article for Wyoming Wildlife went off via email about ten minutes ago, a week ahead of deadline. Please applaud and throw flowers. I deserve it for finishing a 2200 word article in a house with a new baby.
Now I'm going to go off and do something mindless for a while. It's too late to walk down to the beach, even if it wasn't high tide, but I bet I could stand to watch The Fifth Element again.

Trying to decide how to get home. Looks like weather across I-90 will be decent on Monday and Tuesday.
