I employ at least 5 people named Kelvin. Three of them in one store. Big Kelvin, Little Kelvin, and K2. Very common Latin name.
I have come across a few, nothing against them but still not keen on the name. Mind you, I'm not all that gone on what my folks called me, neither.
Irish names are pretty cool
Both mine have Irish names.

Rigor Mortis is certainly much classier than Kelvin.

I need a name for the puppy who is coming to live with us soon. I've been calling him Snip for a white mark on his forehead, but given the upcoming neutering process, that seems kinda, I dunno, mean.

All our dogs were males. Not by design, just how it worked out.

My brother's dogs that he always brings over are females. Sweet little things.

Mom is Bernese. Dad is mountain cur. The pup we're bringing home from the ranch is the runt of the litter. He's sweet, relatively quiet, and hopefully will not be huge. Has Mom's coloring, plus the white snip between his eyes and a white, freckled nose. Four of the pups got Dad's brown color and Mom's furriness. They are the most adorable little tanks you've ever seen, and I'll bet they're going to be BIG.

if you are ever in Niagara, get some wood-fired pizza from The Grist Craft Kitchen and Brewery.

We got some last night, and I ate a couple of leftover pieces today - of their "Produce" pizza

Here's what's on this pizza: Feta, mozzarella, asiago, sun dried tomatoes, artichoke hearts, roasted red peppers, pickled eggplants, mushrooms, and olives topped with spinach & Italian dressing

Super hot here today too, 34C. And it's being followed by a very scary-looking thunderstorm that is just starting to roll in now. I keep looking out the window to see if there are any funnel clouds forming, though the 'nado watch is more to the west and north from where I am located. Really hope my power doesn't go out during poker night !

Louanne, I say, adopt a kitty! They're such great company. I've always had at least one cohabiting with me and I can't imagine not having a cat around.

Do they shed?
A little. I brush Mittens every other day to keep ahead of it as she doesn't do her own grooming so much in her old age. Typical adults groom all the time, which can result in hairballs if you don't feed them grass on occasion and don't brush at all. They are very clean animals, if you haven't had one before.

Oh, also I know you travel a bit, so I'll mention that cats are very chill and are low-maintenance. If you're going to be away for a week or less, you can just leave out a bunch of dry food and a few water dishes, fill the litter box up a bit more than usual, and kitty will be fine.
