a couple sheets of puff pastry?

you can make a "artisan" pizza using the pastry as the crust

I would use olive oil rather than tomato sauce, and then cheese and maybe mushrooms, artichoke, roasted red peppers, olives, whatever you like

Oh, and garlic

Easiest dessert in the world: cut them into squares, put a marshmallow on one side, fold the square into a triangle, seal the edges, and bake until golden brown. If you feel daring, add a bit of chocolate to the marshmallow.

I got rid of my elliptical machine this morning. I wasn't really using it anymore (my knees didn't like it) so I had it moved to my nephew's house. I hope he and his boys get more use out of it than I recently have.

Another change - usually, every May, I wash all the windows, but this year I only got the kitchen window done, and have been dragging my heels on cleaning the rest. So, I said, screw it, and have hired pros to come and clean them this year. They're also going to wash all the aluminum, soffits, eaves, etc.

Yeah, if you can afford paying someone else to do such things, I say, do it.

I haven't gone to a grocery store since the Before Times. I used to take the bus to the store and back, which took up quite a bit of time. The walk back from the stop lugging a backpack full of stuff and my hands in pain from the bag handles digging into my skin.. not pleasant. It also costs $4 per trip now, and if I don't shop quickly enough and the transfer expires, I would have to pay another $4.

So, I always get my groceries delivered now. There's a $6-7 delivery fee depending on the time I choose, plus I will tip the driver a tenner. $17 fee to just tap an app and have other people do all the work instead? It's a no-brainer to me.

I'll only have dry goods and utility produce delivered. They send the meat and veggies that the human shoppers have picked through and rejected. Always a dice roll, but the bastards know that, which is why they'll refund anything with limited inquiry. It’s great otherwise so long as you order the right stuff. A box of ziti is a box of ziti.

Hmm. Personally, I always go shopping for groceries myself ... but I like picking out all my own food (as well as preparing and especially eating it). ;)

Going out to eat has become so expensive since the Pandemic. Even fast food's gotten in on the act. A basic burger meal at Hungry Jack's (the Aussie equivalent of Burger King) can easily cost almost $15 AUD, which is almost $10 USD.

I know that's not much, but it's more if you're an Aussie -- and to add insult to injury, the Hungry Jack's food is rubbish. (Not sure if Burger King is any better, to be honest). We only had one Burger King here, and it closed within three years. I guess the local variety didn't like competing with the US one. =P

If I have to eat fast food, I try to avoid both Hungry Jack's and McDonald's; they're both crap. But try getting a burger, chips and drink at any other burger place, and that can easily set you back $20 or more. *bleh* It's not cheap.

If I am in the mood for a takeout burger, I usually go to Wendy's, and get just the burger, not the meal, and it costs about $8 with tax.

Just got off a Zoom session with one of my current design students and two of my graduated design students. We get together online to stitch and talk, and this time it lifted me out of what was threatening to become a very dark mood.

Off to edit my turkey vulture article. It will wing its way to the magazine editor by Monday. No idea why it was so hard to get started on this piece, but once I got going, it flowed well enough.

I'm contemplating my writing space and the commitment that will attend after moving to the kind of mezzanine above the kitchen. These stools at the island just aren't working.
