Whoa, they turned me down because I told the truth about my few times in jail. My only option was the Army. But I was familiar with the Army because I lived close to Ft Sill in Oklahoma. So I went to another recruiting station and enlisted in the Air Force.

My father was a drill sergeant at Ft. Sill during Korea. I grew up thinking all fathers taught their children to march in formation.

Yeah, the left foot lead used to be a giveaway if someone had been in the service. I haven't checked lately but a lot of that training stuck with me for a long time. Something about traumatic stress and memory. Maybe like a bear attack or a car wreck.
