I have decided. From today, I shall no longer identify as cisgenre.

Since I don't fit neatly into the genre I began with, I should be transgenre. But equally, if genre doesn't matter, perhaps agenre is the best label. Maybe even pangenre. All I can say is, I write what I write, I write my own special creations. Genre is a literary construct. Don't be bound by it. Be genre-curious, not just what it says on the bookshelf.

Genre is on a spectrum. Plenty of books are also genre-fluid and difficult to define. Genre can change after publication as well - we must be open-minded when it comes to genre identity.

Omnigenre? Pseudogenre? The genre in the bottle? (Hemingway or Hunter S Thompson, perhaps.)
