I have decided. From today, I shall no longer identify as cisgenre.

Since I don't fit neatly into the genre I began with, I should be transgenre. But equally, if genre doesn't matter, perhaps agenre is the best label. Maybe even pangenre. All I can say is, I write what I write, I write my own special creations. Genre is a literary construct. Don't be bound by it. Be genre-curious, not just what it says on the bookshelf.

I now return you to your usual programming.

Genre is on a spectrum. Plenty of books are also genre-fluid and difficult to define. Genre can change after publication as well - we must be open-minded when it comes to genre identity.

I always liked playing volleyball. Used to play in an adult league just for fun.

My brother used to play softball in an adult league. Now he participates in petanque tournaments around the country.

The only sports I ever stayed with for any length of time were hang gliding and archery, and I had to quit them both when I developed shoulder problems. Now that those problems are gone, I'm thinking of taking up archery again.

Call me crazy, but a sport where you could get killed (literally) never appealed to me. Possibly because I'm not keen on physical injury and/or pain, especially when it happens to me. *shrug*
