I got my highest-rated yearly performance appraisal in my 25 years with the company yesterday.
I stumbled again and landed here. I might add there's over 700 views on this thread and less than 200 posts. It's a rebellious bunch that visit these parts.

By the way, no-one's to post anything interesting anywhere on the forum until at least Monday. I've a story I'm trying to finish, another I want to get started, my wife gets back after a few weeks in London, there's (a lot) of hoovering to be done, laundry to be laundered, a devolution that needs to be arrested on the understanding that reversal is probably no longer possible and I better let Gus out while he still just farting here beside me, the dirty dog.

I'm reaching an end on one, that will be revised with fresh eyes between bouts of manic hoovering tomorrow. Funnily enough, this time the ending, such as it is, comes after the middle, which follows from the start. That'll never catch on.

I got my entry done on the roleplay in .com - it's pretty easy coming up with a post for a roleplay since you have so much to go on.

Gus, Bonnie and Cassie. An athletic border collie, a dwarf springer and their daughter who resembles a sausage dog.
Over the years, we had four beagles - Barney, Max, Jesse and Baxter.

I don't know how I'd manage without an animal around. I've always had a cat, with the exception of when I went abroad for a year as a young man. Just doesn't feel like home without a kitty, plus I'd feel a bit lonely.
I have not done any writing stuff for like 2 weeks, and you know what? It's been nice to take a bit of a break. Just playing video games and watching sports and shows and whatever. I'll probably do at least a little submitting this weekend, though.

Are cats easier to take care of than dogs?
Good lord yes. All you gotta do is scoop the litter box once a day (and can probably get away with every 2-3 days tbh) and be sure to leave water and food out. For most of their life, they're good with a majority dry food diet and don't need any vet care, so they cost maybe $30-50 a month even if you spoil them with treats and toys.
They aren't always starved for attention and are independent, though when they want affection they will definitely let you know hehe. A bonus is that you can still go away for a weekend or week without issue. Just leave out lots of food and water bowls and they'll be fine.
Where I live I wouldn't be able to put the cat outside. If it wanders, there's a chance it would end up as coyote food.
I grew up in the bush and we did let our cats roam a bit. They always had a good time, though it can be a bit dangerous. But they are totally fine just being inside, too. My apartment isn't very large, but I have a big cat tree and there's plenty of windows and sleeping spaces for kitty.
It's not necessary, but I like to take her out on my balcony with a harness (just in case she thinks about jumping or squeezing through the barrier to the neighbours' balconies). She loves sniffing around and looking about, and just laying on the concrete in the sun.
A decade ago at my old place there was a backyard, and I'd take her out with the harness and have a walkabout. She'd eat a lot of grass and sniff everything. One time she almost snatched a bird when I wasn't watching

May is going out with some cold temps - only about 11-12 degrees C today.

I was voluntold to work over 4 hours (time and a half!) to cover for a vacationing coworker. But that actually sounds a lot worse than it was. I celebrated with a beer at home.
