My favourite is lime Bubly with vodka. It's my own invention, I think.
That's a French 76... can go either way with lemon or lime.

You can experiment with the bitters, but it's probably not what you're looking for. Unless you want some bitterness. Kind of up to you.

I'm getting hungover just thinking about it.

I had to Google, and indeed, there is a French 77

The French 77 cocktail is a bubbly mix of elderflower liqueur, lemon, and Champagne

These have evolved significantly since their inception. Nearly all mixology descends from a handful of mother spirits that have been added to over the years as new spirits are introduced. Now, the entire science flips like every 2-3 years... and is actually starting to contract a bit after several decades of exponential growth. I show old videos of Cheers for training purposes. Look a bar in the 80s compared to now. Look at what people used to order for drinks then as opposed to now. Then I show videos from Sex and City when the Cosmopolitan essentially created the concept of specialty martinis and proprietary cocktails. That was about 2006 or so. Then the boutique spirit craze. Then the craft beer craze. Then the adjuncts and garnish graze. And then Instagram, which blew everything up and turned it into the unwieldy mess it is today.

It's very interesting if you don't have to deal with it everyday. Now I wish we could go back to the 1950s.

Oh yeah drinks can just permutate like crazy with modifications. My father used to mix vodka with his beer, and he free-handed more than a shot. So instead of calling it a boilermaker (whiskey in beer) he called it a boiler repair man.

I don't know why but I suddenly feel like searching for that bottle of whiskey we have laying around here somewhere.

Wine, any I've ever tried, has always given me a hangover before I even get drunk, first touch on my tongue and instant dessication.
