Suggestions and ideas

I won't stoop to being all gushy-American-tourist-abroad about it.
I don't do hyperbole
Thumb up could look like endorsing or condoning a ridiculous event
Stoop or don't. Be hyperbolic or not. I'm not sure a suite of emojis can satisfy your particulars. Maybe words would work better?

Hello, can we start a forum devoted to Poetry discussion?
Probably. Let us discuss.

Poetry Discussion Forum created under the Writing Craft. Let me know if anything looks wonky with it... it's been a minute since I created one these.

Hi Homer and Moose.

I trust that all is well.

Not sure if this has already been suggested however, would you consider having a section on Script Writing for Film and TV.

we havent got a full build out yet for now put them in writing discussions if they're questions, or in the workshop if they're for crit... wee'll split them up when we have enough content
I asked about the screenwriting (scriptwriting) and playwriting subforum or thread few months ago, this was the response.

The term scriptwriting could be refering more to YouTube scripts, and screenwriting is for feature films and TV (can be for YouTube series). They are sometimes used interchangably but scriptwriting reminds me of writing essays or newspaper articles that get filmed and screenwriting is writing a fiction story in screenwriting softwares such as Celtx or Final Draft.

same as i said above, there's hardly any scriptwriting type questions or pieces ergo there's no real demand for it... amplified by the fact that the script writing competition had no entries.

if we get like 10 plus meaninful threads we'll look at starting a section, but we don't want a bunch of sections with hardly any content as that harms the seo

Fair enough, could be that the screenwriters and people interested in learning about screenwriting/scriptwriting are in other online places. There was one entry in that competition and few ocassional mentions of scripts/screenplays but a lot of disconnect. I am surprised because filmmaking is a big industry with a lot of profit opportunities, could be that there are no film producers around here, I think they're the ones that make the film as a concept cool and something that everyone wants to do. Or it could be the film directors and other folks, don't know. There's a lot of overlap between theatre (playwriting) and film (screenwriting) but they're still two different crowds.

Maybe people looking for scriptwriting jibbajabba don't see any here, so don't join. Most places have one. Can't hurt to just put one up and if it gets 0 posts then it's not the end of the world.

Nope not happening, ive said it twice already we don't want empty boards...we'll put stuff up if there's a demonstrable demand for it, if you want it, create some content that'd go in it

we had a script writing workshop at the OG and it attracted very few scripts, or acomplished script writers looking to give critique.

Realistically the chances of being discovered from a writing forum are nil... film makers don't chase scripts for the same reason publishers don't chase writers, ie they have no need because they get bombarded with them daily. Plus big studios have their own script writers on salary

I quite like the personal news feed functionality, but if you look at it right now it's only really interesting if you skip over all the likes and other reactions. Would it be possible to toggle reactions off or remove them from the feed?

This is something we’ve looked at before, the ideal would be to make them selectable at an individual level so people can choose what goes in their feed

However I don’t think that’s currently possible. We may be able to deselect them in the back end, but I’ll have to look into how

Not sure if this is allowed, and if so, where it fits?

I subscribe to a few online magazines and I get e-mails from them every so often. I'm noticing a trend now that one of them keeps advertising for people - "Do you love to write? Consider writing for us!" I doubt it pays a lot, but it could build your portfolios, right?

Does this appeal for writers go in here? If so, where - which forum?

It's a non fiction magazine, focusing on Canadian Real Estate BUT with Google and other search tools, I don't think you'd need to be Canadian to write for the publication.

Thanks!
