Let us all bid adieu to Bob Weir, a founding member of the Grateful Dead. He'll be joining Jerry Garcia and Pigpen to form a new heavenly band: the Grateful Really Dead This Time.

Robert Duvall. 95. Great Run. RIP, consigliere...
Aw man.

He played some amazing characters, but my favorite will forever be his role in Four Christmases - "I don't want to speak ill of your mother on Christmas Day, but she's nothing but a common street whore." I nearly choked to death the first time I watched it.

Edited to fix incorrect quote

Reverend Jesse Jackson passed away aged 84.
Oh man, he spoke in my hometown when he was running for president in '88. My high school political science teacher took us to see him, but...

I was into punk music and style then. I hadn't seen the film, but I was basically cosplaying Travis Bickle that day. Got patted down by a very polite and professional Secret Service agent, mortifying my teacher and amusing the hell outta my classmates.
