What made me unhappy today ?

I needed a specific book today. And, of course, said book was somewhere at the back of my bookshelf, buried under other piles of books, behind a row of books stacked with other piles of books.

There's an even simpler solution: remove the part of the row that's hiding the book you need (and the books on top of it), stack them carefully on top of a nearby chair, then grab your book.

Too simple?

MS has announced price increases for their enterprise users coming in later this year. That means muggins here is going to have to go through our whole price listing and update it all to make sure our P&L reports are correct, and our salespeople aren't making a loss. Yeah, thanks, MS.

(and no, we're not going to sell open sores software instead, or encourage clients to use it)

"Open sores" software - that's a good one. I'm too busy getting a chuckle to be offended!

Seriously, I've got to remember that one. Nice!

Damn, chronic conditions suck. xD Had the wrong kind of food (rotel, the spice used on the broccoli cheese casserole) two nights ago and my short bowel syndrome had been in open rebellion the whole day since. (re: I've been on the toilet so much I think I want to buy one of those toilet paper holders that's shaped like a knight, 'cause if I'm gonna sit on that ceramic throne, may as well have some fun.) Seriously, you'd think it's screaming 'no digestion without representation!' the way it's going on about it.
:v

I need to 'splain my "ha-ha" reaction emoji. I have certain problems from time to time myself, and I sympathize. Notwithstanding, "No digestion without representation" is hilarious on its own.

Best to you and here's hope for a speedy recovery.

Agreed. I've heard of "Microsloth", "Micro$oft" and "Microsucks", but that's a new one. ;)

Well, I've managed to completely fuck up the muscles on my side, so now bending over hurts.
😑
Apparently all the runs/diarrhea I've been having made me woozy when I was doing some physical activity, and I fell over and landed on my side. Hard, apparently.

5 Days into my public social media foray, i am frustrated and disheartened.
There are many people out there who believe people who invest money into book edits and covers are "vanity authors" while "hobby authors" who use AI to write, edit, and create their covers are better selling and inherently better than "vanity authors" who only do it for clout.

Um.... what??

Ouch.

If I cared what people of such opinion think, I'd be offended.

The written word is structural to humankind. I have respect for anyone who puts words together in a meaningful way. Or maybe I'm projecting. I'm unpublished.

AI is wide-angle plagiarism. You may not spot what it's stealing but you can be assured there's nothing original. We humans could be said to do the same thing except we synthesize from experience and what we've read.

Different deal.

Quick - heckle me for being unpublished before it's too late. I'm 32,000 words into what will be a fairly short self-help book. I think there's going to be another one in the queue for 2026, too.

This is why I don't want to be on social media. I feel like my intelligence levels would go lower.
