What made me unhappy today ?

My workplace did some updates technologically and now absolutely everything I need to work is inaccessible because I didn't center my fingerprint properly on the thing I didn't want to use in the first place. Just because we can, doesn't mean we should.

It's an irrational anger past a certain point, but now I have to wait for IT to unlock me before I can actually do my damn job.

I know the feeling. I get that every Wednesday, the day after Windows runs an update on my work laptop ... and suddenly I have to spend an extra five minutes logging in. Quite irritating, that is.

My brother and sister in law forgot my birthday again this year.

Also my best friend forgot my birthday, but it's a tough time of year for her since her brother passed away shortly after my birthday last year, so I'm trying really hard not to be mad at her.
I hit the Like button, thinking I could explore for a birthday cake emoji. Instead, the forum did what I asked. "Like" seems like a bad response.

I have an idea what that feels like. My oldest son's wife is not fond of me or his mom and I don't know why. I hear from him about every other year. I miss him.

I am not happy about idiots shooting off firecrackers during a red flag fire alert in an area with a jillion acres of dry grass and grazing horses.
I hear you. We live in a little rural town. Every holiday sounds like an artillery attack.

*offers Catriona, Amontillado, and all the dogs and horses a big hug*

I live near the centre of a large city, but far away enough for it to be quiet at night. Every New Year's Eve, people shoot off firecrackers nearer the city, which is fine.

But last NYE, some idiots started shooting off firecrackers a few doors down. Not only was I woken up, but also was my next door neighbour's baby. Sigh. =\

The next morning, I saw policemen setting up crime-scene tape. Apparently, under cover of a firecracker going off, someone smashed a window and tried to break into flat. They didn't expect the flat owners to still be up. (Why not? It's NYE, and they were toasting in the new year when it happened).

Ah, the joys of living in a big city. =P

I don’t care for that either, including the a-holes shooting firearms in the air. Amarillo isn’t a little rural town but it still happens nightly from a few days ago and lasts for a week later. 😤

People forget (or don't care) that what goes up must come down, including bits of expended metal. Sometimes those bits come down on top of someone, and then what? Really, firearm safety should be a required PE course.
