Euphoria

Euphoria is the exalted state above normal existence. It breaks out of routine and tingles you down to your toes. Positive in nature, it sprouts out of your most primitive instincts. It makes mortal life worth living, while it transcends you to an otherworldly plane, which makes you forget and remember at the same time. It is happiness to the nth degree. Most often triggered by emotional highs, it is the culmination of our most pressing reasons to be.

Imagination

Imagination is a faculty possessed by humans which allow us to picture things that may or may not be real.

Okra

Not to be confused with okay, except in certain dialects, but rather a green plant that when eaten provide vitamins and nutrients that feed body and soul, a staple to be raised on, providing fond memories of mother's cooking and flatulence in equal measures.

Komorebi 木漏れ日 (kō-mō-leh-bē)​

I've written a novella with this title, but this is something I've made up:

The sunlight broke through the gaps in trees, her rays casting these dancing shadows onto the forest floor. It had stopped raining. The leaves on the hanging branches glistened, twinkled like tiny mirrors. And we smiled. "Komorebi," she whispered.

Pocket

(Noun) - A hidden place that you can reach your hand into. A small pouch containing coins, or bubble-gum, or wishes, or whatever you hold dear. The pocket of my heart actually has a lot of room.

(Verb) – To put into that hidden place, a space held dear, although it may also mean to profit, or gain ownership. To pocket may mean not to share, and take care that what you have pocketed does not become too heavy.

Susurration (one of my favourite words!)

(Noun, literary). The sighing, whispering or rustling of non-human entities, such as rivers, reeds, or winds. Often used to anthropomorphize (another favourite word) these entities.

Bullet

A small, hard, fast thing that may have a big impact. If it bounces off of you, you’re bulletproof. If you dodge it, you’re in the clear. If you bite it, you’ve taken it on. And if you sweat them, something not good is about.

If you’re faster than it, you’re Superman. If it’s magic, it spells relief. If it’s silver, it makes everything okay.

And in some instances, if you take it, you may have saved another.

Water

(Noun) Non-alcoholic liquid refreshment.

Not available everywhere. Some people carry their own supply. Some people feeling something in theirs, but I'd rather not see it. Some of it conceals dangerous toothsome creatures that, if caught, can become luggage.

Fortune

In simple terms, one's fortune refers to how the world, and the universe, treats you. It may refer to past accumulation, or future fate. Fortune may be good or bad, though bad fortune is more properly called misfortune. If it is good, it smiles upon you. If it is bad, you feel like a hostage of its fickleness.

But we need not be passive observers of the unfolding of our fortune. Do not just witness, but act. Fortune favours the bold. When good fortune comes a-knocking, answer the door.

Kettle

(Noun) Electricity-or-gas-enhanced-device for reducing some non-alcoholic liquid refreshment* into its gaseous form and rendering the rest extremely hot. (Aka boiling the water).

A consumer good, designed to reduce some water into gas and boil the rest, in order to make one of three things:

a. a tea-leaf-enhanced, sugar-and/or-milk aided, hot drink;
b. a coffee-bean-enhanced same;
c. a chocolate-bean-enhanced same.

It can also be used to pour into a large pot for boiling food (e.g. noodles, dumplings, etc.).

* I once saw a bottle of water being marketed as "non-alcoholic liquid refreshment". I wish I was making this up. But it inspired me to make fun of it. I hope it makes you smile too.

Bluff

A bluff is something you can either fall off of, or fall for.

If you fall off, then we’re talking about a hill or a cliff. Entirely physical.

If you fall for, then we’re talking about a pretense that has been used to test you. Entirely mental.

Now, if you’re faked out by a precipice, that’s a bluff-bluff, and you might just get by unscathed.

Elixir.

A magical or medicinal potion.

A particular type of medicinal solution. Such as: a cough elixir.

May be used to induce love.

A preparation able to change metals into gold, sought by Alchemists.

The most famous example of a magical Elixir is the Elixir of Life. A substance believed to grant immortality.

It is often a cure all in legends, a general term for a sovereign remedy or a concoction that could cure all ailments.

Also called Quintessence. An elixir can represent the absolute embodiment of something, its essential principle or finest part.

Enthusiastic Solution: Elixir can also be used to refer to any excellent solution or method for solving a problem.

Now, if you’re faked out by a precipice, that’s a bluff-bluff ...

Not quite. That's a double bluff.

Bluff is also something you can be. Being bluff means to have a direct and blunt way of speaking, or to present a hearty and unpretentious demeanor. For example: "Despite her bluff manner, she's actually a very kind woman".
