Good morning!

Even though I'm retired, the days of the week still have a certain rhythm to them. Monday does feel like the start of something.

Do Canadian and British Scrabble sets have extra letter "u"s to account for the ones they like to stick into words like favorite and labor?

My game has four U tiles.

My game was a present to my husband and me back in the 1980s. It looks like this:

Those little differences let us on this side of the pond work out when AI has responded to our emails. I got one that misquoted a line in my original email but changed my spelling of offence with offense.

Do German Scrabble sets have a plethora of tiles with Ü and Ä and ß on them?

(And I'm sure that there are Cyrilic and Hebrew and Arabic versions as well.)

It's turning colder here, but my brother and I keep playing all winter outside. I have a three-walled shanty over on the side of the yard. The firewood is stacked inside and it has a chiminea on the open side so we get the fire going and hang a bare lightbulb, run by extension cord to the house. There's room for a little table, big enough for the Scrabble board, our letters, and a couple of drinks. It's very comfortable.

That sounds intimate and sweet. I'm envious. My son has a firewood shelter like that, but bitterly cold temperatures and regular gale force winds make it unlikely I can convince anyone to play Scrabble out there in the winter.

Email from editor came today with the final version of Book II's cover and the news that they are reprinting Book I.
