There's so many things I love about summer - like sitting on the patio on a warm day. The way the woodlot surrounding the property turns so green. And not having to wear socks for months!

Last night I noticed the fireflies and heard the locusts droning. Even though we are forecast to be in a heat wave for the next 24 hours, there are signs of the approaching turn toward autumn.

If you're going to start talking about the Kelvin Scale, I'm leaving. It just depresses me with those numbers.
It's not terribly relevant until you start talking about spectral classes and stellar temps and shit.

So on that note, which would y'all rather be? A 30K Kelvin O class rockstar that explodes in a few million years, or a 3K Kelvin fat ass M class that never dies?

Funny how we attach to names. My brother and his wife in Wales were expecting same time as we were expecting our first. He and I had never discussed names for children until, over the phone with both his and mine imminent, it transpired we had settled on the same choices for girl or boy. Granted the boy's name was our dad's, but the girl's wasn't a family name nor one familiar to us. He got the boy's name, we the girl's.
