Homer, my advice is to take a rolled up tissue as big as a cig and hold it in your mouth. It’ll trick your brain into thinking you’re smoking.

I’ve a friend whose husband quit drinking by drinking something else in his drinking glass at the same time, and it worked. He tricked his brain.

This is probably not good advice, but it did work for me. The first few days of cold turkey are the most challenging of course. Very difficult to sleep. So, get very, very drunk in the evening, and you will absolutely sleep. Then in the morning you will feel like shit and nothing seems as unappetizing as having a smoke. Repeat for 3-5 nights as needed and you're over that hump.

What a dull weekend. Barely got any PS5 time in at all. But I did get all the annoying self-pub work done. Two print versions and three e-book versions are now in perfect shape and ready to go for the Sept. 1 launch. It's nice to have everything done well ahead of time, but I think the next two weeks is gonna feel more like two months

I've got my first sub teaching job of the school year coming up this Thursday. Not an ideal gig--- it's middle school music--- the music part is fine, though I can only sing and I can't play the piano--- but all those pre-teen kids, in one room, on the first day of school! Yikes.

I'm sucking it up, though. It'll mean a paycheck the end of the next week, and I need all of those I can get, I have to replace my car.

EDIT--- Whoops, spoke too soon. Guess the music teacher didn't need the day off after all, because the absence has been canceled.
