HEY! I need some brainstorming help. I need to come up with the most Macho/negatively masculine trial of strength, that is believable and realistic? I was thinking maybe a survival trial or some kind of fighting arena thing. But those seem boring and too easy for my MC to win. Unless we really want to just showcase his abilities. But I want some amount of stakes involved. He has to 'win' the right to marry the FMC, because she comes from a negatively masculine planet and trust me, it's bad.
Ah, too bad. I was going to suggest "resisting mansplaining while spending 24 hours with his female relatives" as the most Macho/negatively masculine trial of strength. Of course, expecting such a feat to be realistic wiped the suggestion out anyway.
No worries. I am still looking for specific details or restrictions. I think he’s going to have to kill her other possible suitors in a fighting arena. I just don’t k ow how yo make it challenging though. Because this character is overpowered And he can’t die. Secondly, i thought about a no magic rule it he can’t technically suffer a fatal blow. But the reason for the contest is to prove his strength and with that strength, be able yo protect his future wife.
It’s a whole space society thing. In this horrible society, women ‘need protection’ from the ‘dangers’ of the world and so men have to show they are capable of doing so.
Edit: Also, IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE SEXIST. Because the reader is not suppose to like this society, anymore than they are supposed to like the extreme matriarchal one of another planet. The point is, sexism in either direction is bad and can lead to a bad society.
